Where To Go On Your Next Break Glorious Getaways

Bathing Sheds or Bathing Boxes, Brighton VIC Australia

After being cooped up for most of last year, Australians (and Victorians in particular) are raring to explore this great country.

From escaping the big smoke to experiencing new sights, getting out there and supporting local businesses (and your mental health) is really important. If your state has been COVID-free recently and there’s no lockdown in sight why not plan a weekend away?

To help inspire you to get back into travel mode like it’s 2019, here are Bathing Shed’s top getaway destinations.

Phillip Island - VIC

With our passion for the beach-side life, we couldn’t start our list off without recommending Phillip Island. Just a stone's throw away from Melbourne city this beach town is an idyllic escape. Perfect for animal lovers, Phillip Island is home to the famous Penguin Parade and Koala Conservation Centre.

Enjoy dinner with a view at the stunning Saltwater cafe and restaurant where you can enjoy your coffee with 270 degree views of the waterfront. If you’re more of a sweet tooth, why not try the Phillip Island Chocolate Factory where you can make your own chocolate bar souvenir to take home.

Sorrento - VIC

Also on the Victorian coast lies the town of Sorrento. Get the best of both worlds as you spend the afternoon browsing boutiques while your friends head to the ocean (or vice versa).

Home to antique shops, art galleries and the well known Sorrento to Portsea artists trail walk, this quaint village is the perfect city escape.

If you’re into adventure, grab a boat and head out to sea for a swim with the dolphins at the Polperro Dolphin Swims

While in town you can’t go past the Vanilla Slice Cafe where they serve up the sweetest of slices every day. Don’t fear if you’re not into the Australian institution, there’s also a full menu with a killer eggs benedict.

Palm Cove - QLD

If you like more of a tropical vibe to your getaway, Palm Cove in Queensland is a relaxing holiday destination. Close to Cairns and lined with palm trees and sparkling blue water, the relaxed and upmarket atmosphere is a must-do on the Australian bucket list.

With deluxe spas to relax in and being close to the heritage listed Great Barrier Reef, this tropical paradise is definitely on Bathing Shed’s agenda. Stay at Peppers Beach Club & Spa for a resort-style break and don’t miss out on exploring the Daintree rainforest as well.

Barossa Valley - SA

Heading back down south, the wine-producing region of the Barossa Valley makes for a great next getaway.

One of Australia’s oldest and finest wine producing regions the Barossa is known for its delectable food and wine culture. If you’re looking for a unique winery experience, the Taste Your Birth Year tour will let you see what was on offer when you were born. A little different than picking something up from Dan Murphy’s!

Don’t miss a homemade slice at the Barossa Cheese Company and Apex Bakery before (or maybe after) a hot air balloon ride or cycle around the region.

Wherever you choose to go, don’t forget to pack your beauty essential; the Bathing Shed ‘Fresh Start’ soap. A refreshing and invigorating way to start your getaway.
