Let Us Sort Your Bayside Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s day is here once more and whether you're into it or not, we should be celebrating love more than ever after the stressful year many of us have had. From beach dates to the perfect romantic restaurant, here are our top Love Day date ideas in the Bayside.

For the Beach Babes

It’s no surprise that here at Bathing Shed we are big fans of the beach. If your special person is also a beach fiend then here are some ways to get the date going along swimmingly.

Weather permitting (thanks, Melbourne) head down to one of the beautiful Port Phillip Bay beaches. Elwood is a popular spot and boasts a number of cafes. A quick ten minute walk from the Elwood foreshore, stop in for a romantic coffee at Plain Sailing before wandering down to the ocean.

Pack a picnic blanket and some snacks, enjoy the sunshine and sea salt while watching the tide go in and out. If you decide to head a little further down the coast for the date day, why not try something new like stand-up paddle boarding on the Peninsula? A perfect mix of relaxation, adventure and romance.

Something A Little Bit Fancy

While the bayside is known for its natural beauty and outdoor lifestyle, it’s also an area boasting up-market bars and restaurants.

If your Valentine is into something a little bit fancy why not begin the night at Hampton Wine Co?  Situated in the luxe suburb of Hampton, the wine bar boasts over 300 curated wines on their shelves with a cellar selection for special occasions.

Once you’re ready for dinner, head over to Aromi. Featuring local Victorian produce and inspired by Italian cuisine, the Brighton-based restaurant is the perfect choice for an elegant night out.

Adventure Awaits

While some couples like a relaxed restaurant, others are looking for more adventure. If you’re one of them, why not try South Melbourne’s Escape Room. Choose from one of three puzzle choices and get to know your date even better by trying to escape from the game together.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, wander around to Shakahari Too for some delicious vegetarian food inspired by dishes from around the globe. Using only fresh, natural ingredients, Shakahari Too has been a Melbourne institution for over four decades and recently moved to the Port Phillip suburb of South Melbourne.

Attention, Beauty Buffs

If quality time spent relaxing is your cup of tea then why not try some yoga as a couple?

Start off at Warrior One Yoga for a light-filled session together. Follow that with a healthy brunch (the Raspberry Chia Pudding is a classic) at The Tamper Trap cafe.

Once your good vibes-filled morning is over, the Endota Spa in Brighton boasts a menu full of luxurious massages and facials. You’ll leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed; a perfect Valentine’s day treat.
